Oversleep can be the disturbing sign of narcolepsy in case the person had a healthy night rest (7-8 hours). However, if it’s not too hot outside and the person is not practicing hard physical exercises, daytime dizziness and sleepy sensation is not a good symptom.
Narcolepsy is dangerous as people may fall asleep at any place, even in public transport. They may get injured as the result of such fall. Thus, they always need some people around to watch them and provide first aid if necessary. These patients unintentionally sleep for several minutes or almost an hour, but it does not help the exhaustion. The alertness level drops down during 24 hours. This phenomenon is named among the first symptoms of narcolepsy. It leads to the lack of focus and attentiveness.
