There are many disorders of the immune system which prevent our organism from being effectively protected against external threats. One of such problems is known as Graves’ disease. When too many hormones are generated by the thyroid gland, the disorder occurs. The most influential factors are heredity, age, sex, and frequency of stressful situations even though the specific symptoms cannot be named for sure. Females aged 20-40 report of this issue more often than the rest of the population.
There are several signs that proclaim Graves’ disease. It is very easy to confuse this disease with hyperthyroidism, which also does damage to the organ of eyesight. More than 50% of people who suffer from the disease list the following symptoms: bulging organs of vision, dry eyes, compression, painful sensation, red/pink/puffy eyes, tearing without good reasons, etc.
