Signs You Might Have a Thyroid Problem
Heredity. It is quite possible that thyroid problems develop more frequently in humans whose ancestors had any throat diseases or thyroid disease itself. In fact, one cannot claim that thyroid disease is pure heredity case.

Moreover, it is not the main reason of thyroid problems. Nevertheless, the hereditary predisposition to this kind of health problems exists. People, whose relatives or ancestors have some medical thyroid problems, should be more careful with appearance of suspicious thyroid symptoms.

Hyper-tiredness. Everyone gets exhausted from time to time. Bad night’s sleeping, stressful situations, huge problems from different parts of life ultimately lead to tiredness. However, tiredness one can treat as underactive thyroid symptom.

If you mostly feel tired and exhausted, no matter how long was your rest, beware of hypothyroidism. For instance, some common activities may become difficult to do, such as physical exercises or getting up early in the morning. Hyper-tiredness can be accompanied by dizzy mind when a person does not think clearly anymore.

Problems with hair and skin. If the problem of thyroid occurs, there will be a high risk of skin and hair quality reduction. Whole body hair in most cases becomes thinner and falls out more. Armpits and eyebrows tend to fall out also. It is possible that skin becomes extra dry and spotted or otherwise extremely oily and acne-prone. In few cases only, there are no skin problems at all.

Disturbance. Disturbance can occur under different stressful situations or mental disorders. Thyroid problem can also cause a high disturbance. When our body contains too much thyroid hormone in terms of medical language it’s called hyperthyroidism. It can give a person some extra energy but not in a positive sense. It’s more like feeling worried and strained, but not like full of energy due to caffeine.

Weight changes. Hyperthyroidism can be a reason of both gaining weight and weight loss. If one does not change his/her common way of life but feels rapid body weight changings – it could definitely be hyperthyroidism.

Heartquake. Heart beating pace changings may also be caused by thyroids problems. Your heart needs thyroid hormones to work properly. Increase or decrease in the level of those hormones change the way your heart beats. For instance, hypothyroidism slows down the heart pace. A patient may not even notice this on early stages.

Bowel function fluctuations. The majority of people with thyroid problems complain about non-stable bowel functions. Incorrect work of thyroid causes metabolism changings. Thus, bowel behavior may also change. If a person has low thyroid production, the bowel works slowly due to the slow metabolism. Such person may feel constipated often. On the contrary, when metabolism is extremely high, this is the reason of diarrhea and frequent defecation.

Sleep disorders. If one has thyroid problems, it may effect on plenty of body systems and organs. Sleep is not an exception. Both increase and decrease in the level of thyroid hormones effects on the quality of your rest. As the excess of thyroid hormones causes heartquake and disturbance, it is often hard to calm down and fall asleep. Lack of thyroid hormones can also be a problem while falling asleep.

Tumefaction in the neck. The most visible symptom of thyroid problems is tumefaction in the neck. The reason of this tumefaction is goiter, which means that thyroid is inflamed. Goiter is possible equally in both cases – due to hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. However, tumefaction in the neck may be caused by other reasons additionally. Thereby, any kind of neck shape changing or deformations must undergo medical investigation in the early stages.

High cholesterol level. Increase of cholesterol level is another symptom of thyroid disease. Despite the fact that proper nutrition is responsible for the correct cholesterol level, this level also depends on thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormone plays an important role in breaking down low-density lipoproteins, bad ones. Which means that if the thyroid does not work stable, bad cholesterols cannot be destroyed and it leads to heart disease.
